Manners are so important to Collin and me. Once Annabelle started talking, we always encouraged her to say please and thank you. And now she's a bit older, we encourage her to say yes ma'am/sir and no ma'am/sir.
Last night we had a fun evening with Kelly, Laurice, and Weston. We had dinner at the mall, played for a bit, and did a little shopping.
Annabelle had a Chick Fil A kids meal and if you return the toy you can get an ice cream. I asked Annabelle if she would like to have some ice cream and she shook her head yes. I gave her the book and we walked back to Chick Fil A.
Annabelle headed the girl the book, and the girl asked "Do you want some ice cream?" and Annabelle replied with "Yes Ma'am!"...It was a proud momma moment! All these times she WAS listening to me! I told her that was very polite and I was so proud of her for using manners!
The girl brought back her ice cream and handed it to Annabelle and said "Here you go sweetie!" and Annabelle replied "Thank you!"...double proud momma moment!
Back at the table, Annabelle "shared" her ice cream with her cousin. And by sharing, I mean she would scoop a little bit out of the bowl, feed it to him, and lick the remaining ice cream off the spoon...then feed herself 2 bigger bites.
We working on sharing...
